Prison Guard Walter Doucette was shot to death on Christmas Eve, 1935, after taking two prisoners he was transporting for a Christmas Eve meal. He was a deeply religious man and wanted to do a good Christian deed. Guard Walter Doucette left a wife and 6 children, who were eagerly anticipating a visit from Santa that night, not a knock on the door telling them their father was murdered.
