Warden Tenney was stabbed and killed by a prisoner who was unhappy about the amount of meat he had been receiving at meal time. Warden Tenney was stabbed in the neck with a small knife the prisoner had made in the prison shop and later sharpened with a file while in his cell. He hid the knife in his shoe until he was close enough to Warden Tenney to stab him.
